As for her own doula business, Samantha quickly grew her own brand, then known as The Maya's Nest birth services with a team of fantastic doulas. After the birth of her third child, she decided to slow down on attending so many births and in 2020 took on the new challenge of bellies inc. where she grew sales to double what the previous owners had all thanks to rebranding and shifting the messaging of the products from bellies inc.
Now the vast majority of her time is spent on continuing to grow bellies inc., teaching My Powerful Birth prenatal classes, her three kids of course while still taking on a select few dream clients each year. She is so excited to be able to continue her work with Michelle and share all that she has learned with other doulas in her community. A core belief is Community over Competition and this class is another opportunity to live that belief.
Michelle Tyliakos is a Doula, Educator and Advocate. She is committed to people powerfully awakening the mind, body and spirit through choice and intuition. She became a Doula in 2015 after the birth of her 4th child. Shortly after she created In Our Hearts, a place for community and connection for those who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion and neonatal death.
Since that time, Michelle spent thousands of hours being trained and coaching others through monumental life events such as death of a loved one, adultery, suicidal family members, grief, chronic illness, and more simple things like changing careers, navigating health in the medical system, reconnecting estranged relationships and planning a vacation that was always wanted. She has coached people from expectant families, doulas, chiropractors, midwives, nurses and nutritionists, health advocates, business owners and caregiving spouses.
Michelle developed My Powerful Birth prenatal classes after recognizing that most prenatal classes on the market were missing integral conversations around birthing today. After years of planning projects and working on smaller events, Michelle and Sam joined forces to officially enter a partnership.
Her passion about the rights to informed choice were enhanced as she supported her husband through making powerful decisions while intuitively navigating life with a rare form of heart cancer.
In her work as a Doula, Coach, Educator, and Advocate Michelle stands for others birth workers to Connect- Heal-Advocate through Transforming birth Luminaries Group Coaching. She is currently the Director of Peer Support with the Doula Services Association of BC, and owns 3 limited companies which support her family.
